Topic: Advent Scripture: 2 Peter 3:10–3:14

Living In Light of Christ’s Coming
2 Peter 3:10–14
December 14, 2014

Introduction

I. The future coming of Christ will be cataclysmic. 2 Peter 3:10, 13

II. The coming of Christ will be a day of final judgment. 2 Peter 3:10

III. How then should we live? 2 Peter 3:11–12, 14

Questions for reflection:
How does reflecting on future things connected with Christ’s return make us better Christians here and now?
The future coming of Jesus is a motivation to make our personal “calling and election sure.” How do we do this?
Given the second coming, what should our concern look like for others, especially the
spiritually lost?
What are the things that will pass from this life into the next? Are our current values and priorities consistent with what will matter when Christ returns?
