A. The Israelites at the time of the exodus and wilderness wandering.
B. Joseph in Egypt. Genesis 50:20
V. The evidence of God’s favor: He sends a deliverer. Judges 6:14, Romans 5:8
Questions for reflection:
- Have you experienced a time in your life when it seemed like God had forsaken you? How does the Bible address this existential question?
- What does it mean that “God is with you”? What is it that makes this promise hard to believe?
- How can we begin to practice the presence of God?
